The Oakhill Roundup

Littleport Life presents it’s latest budding journalist, author of the internet blog ‘Oakhill Sunday Sport’ Alex Oakhill, who this issue presents an overview of our very own sporting hub, Littleport Leisure Centre.

Recently, I went to visit Littleport Leisure Centre to find out what activities they have to offer.
I discovered the variety is huge and that children, adults and seniors can all get involved in something whether they’re sporty or not.

For those sporty people, there are activities 6 days a week including Judo, Badminton, Archery and much more.
For people looking to relax and enjoy time with friends and family, facilities like the two bars the centre offers, the quiz night that’s held every month on a Sunday (bring a team of 4) and the Sunday Carvery provides fun and enjoyable times.

The Centre is a place where children and juniors can express themselves in sport. Kickboxing (Monday and Wednesday evenings for 14+ years and Thursday evenings for 6+ years) and Karate (4:30-6:00 on a Tuesday) are two excellent activities for kids to have a go at. With Roller Skating, Badminton, Judo, Korfball, Archery and even a Junior Bodyzone there’s something for everyone.

In the holidays different activities such as Kids Bingo, Social club and Craft Workshops are just a taste of the fun on offer. Why not have a go at something this Easter!

As well as sports, different shows and events are held all year round.

There are around 20 different dog shows a year with a variety of obedience and agility competitions. There are also motorbike and car shows for the family to enjoy.

So, if you have any free time this weekend why not come and see what the Centre can offer. If you enjoy the experience, then why not buy a year’s membership so you can enjoy the Centre all year round.
